Itย is an artworkย designed by artist Wong Yulongย in collaboration with Andy Lau through 3d modeling technology. The sculptureย is now installed in Freespace, West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong. This stainless steelย sculpture is designed based on the image of the artist Mr. Andy Lau as inspiration, the image vividly expresses his personal charm.
This customized stainless steel sculpture is 2 meters high. Based on a 3d model, a 1:1 resin model was printedย for production. As parts the surface of the sculpture has more details, which is more difficult to reach for fine treatment by hand, so we used a combination of casting and hand forging process to make it. Other panels with relatively flat surfaces were made by handย forging process. Finally, the panels made in pieces are spliced and weldedย together. The production of cast stainless steel sculpture and cast bronze sculpture is basically the same except for the difference in material, which is mainly completed using the traditional lost wax casting process.
