This faceless sculpture is one of the new works by artist Huang Yulong. It is named Wukong, who clenched his fist, looked full of power. Its height is 93cm. The whole sculpture is made of bronze, with both polishing and patina finishes. The same thing is that the inside of the hat is treated with gold leaf, which forms a sharp contrast. In addition, there is a stainless steel base at the bottom of the sculpture.
Bronze sculpture has a history of thousands of years, but nowadays, bronze is often used to make modern artistic images as well. In terms of production process, the traditional lost wax casting process is still used, from clay sculpture or 3d model to wax mold, copper melting and pouring step by step, which requires the master’s superb skills. Of course, the later splicing, welding and polishing are all very important, especially where there are many details, which are all steps that can not be ignored in making a fine bronze sculpture.
